Helen and Adam had searched all over the UK before falling in love with Babbacombe in Torquay, where they found the perfect business in the Seabreeze Guest House. It was ideally situated within its stunning location and panoramic sea view. SOLD!
Whilst they had purchased an established business and reputation, the branding of the previous owners did not suit Helen and Adams vision for their view venture, so from a recommendation they contacted Frankman Design.
We met with Helen and Adam who popped along to our Torquay Design Office to discuss their requirements. Adam told us “We realised that The logo and website were old fashioned, clunky and the logo itself reminded us of a fish and chip shop and not a seaside retreat”
We discussed some creative ideas for the logo design and what they were looking for in terms of colour. We also chatted about their interior design plans and decorating ideas, so that we could build something into the design.
Adam and Helen were confident they wanted something with a seaside theme, that was fresh, friendly and welcoming. We were tasked with a Red, white and blue theme, to match the guest houses décor. We designed the logo to incorporate a sailing boat which can be seen from the property, as well as including the property number.
The guest house offers spacious rooms and we very much wanted to portray that open and free feeling with the logo design whilst also displaying a peaceful, calm and relaxing message.
With a blank canvas to play with we set about to work on the website design. We had arranged stunning location as well as interior photography of the newly decorated Seabreeze. We chose a view of the Babbacombe Down to headline the website and that view was taken from the front of Seabreeze.
The rest of the website flowed well with the selection of images and broken down into each room and linking in with their booking provider, Evivo.
After the website went live, Adam explained “The design process for the new logo went very smoothly as did the web site design and implementation. Frankman were our 1 stop shop for our total business rebrand, especially important when you are new to the accommodation business and area.”

Once the new logo design was finalised, Adam and Helen naturally wanted to display it proudly at the front of their property. We created them some mock-ups of how it would look in place, final artwork was then supplied to their chosen signage manufacturer.
We were also delighted to be asked to design their marketing leaflet, which took the form of a DL leaflet, the design reflected that of the website to maintain brand consistency. We also created some business cards for Adam and Helen and a poster that was displayed at the front of the property that showcased the rooms to visitors walking by.
Seabreeze benefitted from a full rebrand, including a new logo design, new website design, marketing material and stationery as well as creative input on their signage.
Adam commented on how happy they both were with the outcome of their rebrand. “The new web site, logo and signage have really helped catch visitors’ eyes, which has encouraged people to look at our website, which helps to drive direct business to us and cuts back on the number of bookings through OTA’s.
“Returning customers are also loving the changes” Adam continued “The website is a huge improvement, especially when using mobile devices. Customers like the fact that they can see before they buy so to speak, they get a good idea of what we can offer before they book”
“We were delighted that the website seamlessly ran from day 1 and the new signage was all in place before the start of our first season”
